I just finished two years of intense genealogical studies with Boston University, Professional Genealogists (ProGen) Study Group, Genealogical Proof (GenProof) Study Group and Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG). These learning opportunities have been amazing experiences, both from what I have learned about the field as well as the peers, instructors, and mentors I have had the privilege of working with.

So, I then asked myself, what’s next for me? I’m continuing to work on my life-long dream of being a professional genealogist with my next study group starting in mid-February. In addition, I am also committed to continue writing with a goal of being published professionally in the future.

With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to take part in the 52 Ancestors Challenge, created by Genealogist Amy Johnson Crow, MLIS. She encourages us to write about our own family research. Each week has a specific theme in this challenge, and we can communicate what we write in any form we wish. Utilizing the blog on my website will enable me to share my research with my love of writing. Each week I will share the writing prompt along with my response.
